Dieng plateau is one of the places that bears the name of the country above the clouds. Dieng is also very famous destination in Indonesia especially in Central Java. because it has natural beauty and fresh mountain air. When visiting Dieng we will be stunned like seeing Nature which is very beautifully painted, the cold air seems to hold us from leaving this place.

This tourist area in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java, can be said as a tourist destination that becomes a tourist magnet for local and even foreign tourists who are seduced by the beauty of the Land of Heaven in Indonesia. On the one hand, Bali is famous for its natural sunset phenomenon, the Dieng Plateau is popular for its sunrise treats.
The location of the Dieng is at an altitude of more than 2,000 meters above sea level (masl), so it is often shrouded in clouds mainly in the morning and evening. There are many tourist attractions in the Dieng plateau, such as mountains, hills, craters, temples, lakes, various culinary delights, warm bathing pools, and others. Besides, the cold air at certain times can reach 0 degrees. When we were there it was 13 degrees, and that alone was freezing cold.

Sikunir Hill
Of course, this is a mandatory destination, because this is an icon of tourism to Dieng, the main purpose of tourists to Sikunir Hill is to enjoy the beauty of its golden sunrise.
It didn't take long to get to the top of Sikunir Hill. Usually, the travel time for tourists is only around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on their physical condition.
If the weather is sunny and cloudy, not only the golden sunrise, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of eight mountains from the top of Sikunir Hill. These include Mount Sindoro, Mount Sumbing, Mount Prau, Mount Slamet, Mount Merbabu, and Mount Merapi.

However, it was a pity that when we were there the air was quite cold and there were many children, so it was a pity if we had to brave the very cold air, so we finally took a tour package that was not too early which included:

Sikidang Crater
Along the way we can enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery, Sikidang Crater attracts many tourists, because in this destination tourists can see volcanic activity.
The Dieng Plateau is a giant volcano with lakes and craters that were occupied by residents. The craters that still show volcanic activity are the main attraction. The position of Sikidang Dieng Crater is different from the crater in general which is located at the top of a volcano and is difficult to see. Meanwhile, Sikidang Crater is located on flat ground so that visitors are free to see hot mud erupting and gas or thick white smoke billowing in the air.
Geothermal energy in the Sikidang crater is used for PLTP (Geothermal Power Plant). This crater has a small hot water lake with water that is always boiling and a gas gap field whose points are always moving in an area of approximately 4 hectares. It is from these characteristics that the name "Sikidang" crater came from, because the locals saw it as Kidang or Kijang in Javanese, jumping and moving around.

Batu Pandang Ratapan Angin is the right place to enjoy the beauty of Telaga Warna and Lake Pengilon from a height. As the name implies, there is a large rock that visitors can climb at this location. However, tourists should still be careful because this destination is quite high. From the top of this rock, tourists can see the beauty of Telaga Warna clearly. It's even clearer than coming to Telaga Warna directly, because we see it from above.

Tuk Bimalukar - The fountain of youth
Tuk Bimalukar Tourism Object is located right before the welcome gate in the Dieng tourist area, entering through the footpath, only a few meters from the Wonosobo - Dieng highway.

This tourist attraction is thought to be an ancient spring, and is the headwaters of the Serayu River, one of the major rivers on the island of Java. Tuk Bimalukar was once one of the places or facilities built by the Hindu community in Dieng, until now the place is still used by the Balinese Hindu community as a place for ceremonial processions held in Dieng. The origin of the name Tuk Bima Lukar was named by the local community from the wayang story The story of the journey of the Bima in search of the spring of life.

The building in this spring consists of three steps. The top step becomes the sacred part. In this section, there is a place to put offerings. Underneath, there is a pool that holds water. Meanwhile, at the bottom there are two showers. It is under this shower that local people and visitors wash their faces, or even take a bath. There is a belief in the surrounding community about this spring. Washing your face or bathing in this place is believed to keep you young.

Candi Arjuna
Arjuna Temple
Arjuna Temple is a Hindu temple relic of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom. Built between the 7th and 9th centuries, the founder of Arjuna Temple is thought to have come from the Sanjaya Dynasty of Ancient Mataram.
This temple is estimated to be the oldest temple in Java. This is evidenced in the inscriptions found around the Arjuna Temple complex, which were written in 731 Saka or 808 AD.

The Arjuna Temple complex has an area about 1 hectare. In this complex, there are five temple buildings, namely Arjuna Temple, Semar Temple, Srikandi Temple, Puntadewa Temple, and Sembadra Temple. Besides Semar Temple, the other four temples are the main temples used as places of prayer.
Of course, because it is a place of worship, there are certain rules that we must obey when traveling to Arjuna Temple, these rules are listed at the entrance.
The entrance fee for Arjuna Temple is included with Sikidang Crater, and we just need to scan the tickets we get from Sikidang Crater at Arjuna Temple to enter.
The garden arrangement at Arjuna Temple is really beautiful, and there is also a horse field where we can rent horses to take pictures, around Rp. 20.000,- /rent

When we traveled to Dieng, we stayed at Diengcool 4, the price we got at that time was around Rp. 700,000,- / night, cheap enough for family to stay.
